Wheel Thrown Pottery Taster Class

Learn what it’s like to have a go on the potter’s wheel in this short class

Location: Omega Centre Ceramics Studio, Portsmouth, PO5 4LP

Class content: You will learn how to centre the clay on the wheel and to pull a pot shape, you can choose up to two of your pieces to be bisque fired, which you might want to glaze at one of our Glaze Workshops (these are also run on the occasional Saturday). You will find as a beginner that your pots may be very wobbly and often collapse on the wheel, this is normal to begin with but does add to the fun of learning. If you find the bug has bitten we offer a 6 week Wheel Throwing Foundation class which can be found here

Pre requirements: You do not need any previous experience to attend this class. Age 16+

Session size: 4 participants and 1 tutor

This class caters for complete beginners to both ceramics and to wheel throwing.
